This report is the seventh edition of the market research on vanadium and vanadium-containing products in Russia and the CIS countries.

The purpose of the study is to analyze the market for vanadium and vanadium-containing products.

The objects of research are vanadium-containing ores and concentrates, vanadium slags, vanadium pentoxide, ferrovanadium, metallic vanadium and vanadium-aluminum alloys.

This work is a desk research. Data from the statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan) were used as sources of information; UN international databases (UNdata), World Bank, Eurostat; international and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (until 2022); Unified information system in the field of procurement; railway transport statistics; VLSI databases; foreign specialized companies; annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers; industry and regional press, conference materials, Internet sites of manufacturing enterprises and consumers of the products under study; scientific and technical literature (elibrary, etc.), FIPS patent database; Infomine database, etc.

Chronological scope of the study: 1998-2023; forecast – until 2030

Geography of research: Russia, – comprehensive detailed market analysis; other EAEU countries – general retrospective market analysis; rest of the world - general information about market dynamics and characteristics.

Scope of the study: the report consists of 7 parts, contains 100 pages, including 42 tables, 16 figures and 1 appendix.

 

The first chapter of the report is devoted to a brief description of the global vanadium market, providing data on world vanadium reserves, world vanadium production and production of vanadium products, the main producing and consuming countries, as well as world prices for vanadium in 2005-2023. Foreign trade operations of countries around the world with vanadium pentoxide and ferrovanadium are considered.

The second chapter of the report describes the mineral resource base of vanadium in the EAEU (Russia, Kazakhstan), provides data on reserves and main deposits.

The third chapter presents data on the extraction and processing of vanadium raw materials to obtain marketable products. This section presents the dynamics of the mining of vanadium-containing ores and the production of commercial vanadium products in Russia (1998-2023), characterizes the technologies for producing vanadium products and the requirements for their quality. In addition, a description is given of the main manufacturing enterprises of vanadium raw materials and commercial vanadium products in Russia. Characteristics of new projects aimed at producing vanadium products by EAEU enterprises are also given.

The fourth chapter is devoted to foreign trade operations (1998-2023) with vanadium products (vanadium-containing slag, vanadium pentoxide, ferrovanadium, metal vanadium) of the EAEU countries (Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus).

The fifth chapter contains an analysis of Russian export-import prices for the products in question, and also provides current prices for commercial vanadium products on the Russian market.

The sixth chapter describes the consumption of vanadium in Russia. This chapter provides the dynamics of consumption of vanadium products and vanadium in general in Russia (2000-2023), data on the structure of vanadium consumption in Russia.

The final, seventh chapter provides a forecast for the development of the vanadium market in Russia until 2030.

The appendix contains the addresses and contact information of enterprises producing vanadium products.
