This report is the eighth edition of the study of the current state of the iodine market in the CIS countries (Russia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Belarus) and the world.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the market for iodine and its compounds.
The objects of research are iodine and iodine-containing products.
The work is a desk study. As sources of information, we used data from Rosstat, statistics on railway transportation of the Russian Federation, the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, the State Customs Service of Ukraine (data on foreign trade operations), the UNdata, USGS, British Geological Survey (BGS) databases, and the Infomine database. The data of the statistics committees of the CIS countries, industry and regional press, annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers, websites of iodine producers, as well as telephone interviews were also involved.
Timeline of the study: 2000-2021; forecast - 2022-2030
Research geography: Russia and the CIS countries - a comprehensive detailed analysis of the market, the world - a brief description.
Scope of the study: the report consists of 10 parts, contains 137 pages, including 34 tables, 40 figures and 2 appendices.
The first chapter of the report provides a brief overview of the global iodine market in 2005-2021. The section provides data on iodine reserves in the world, the dynamics of iodine production, the main producers of products, exports and imports of products, prices and world consumption of iodine.
The second chapter of the report provides information on iodine reserves in the CIS countries (Russia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Belarus).
The third chapter of the report provides information about the existing technologies for the production of iodine and their features.
The fourth chapter of the report is devoted to the analysis of iodine production in the CIS in 1992-2021. This chapter presents the requirements of the existing regulatory and technical documentation for the quality of iodine of various grades, provides data on production volumes, traces the dynamics of the production of these products, describes the main iodine producers and their current state.
The fifth chapter of the report is devoted to projects for the development of iodine production in the CIS.
The sixth chapter of the report analyzes data on foreign trade operations with iodine in Russia and the CIS. Russia (2001-2021) and Ukraine (2000-2021) - a detailed market analysis: data on the volume of exports and imports of the studied products are given, the regional structure of supplies is assessed, data on the volumes of iodine supplied by exporters and importers are presented. Turkmenistan (2001-2021), Azerbaijan (2007-2021), and Kazakhstan and Belarus (2004-2021) – a brief analysis.
The seventh chapter of the report considers foreign trade operations with iodine-containing products in Russia (2000-2021), in Ukraine (2005-2020) - a detailed analysis of the volumes and directions of export-import supplies of these products.
The eighth chapter of the report presents the average export prices for iodine by producers in the CIS, and also analyzes data on changes in export-import prices for products in 2005-2021.
The ninth chapter of the report is devoted to the analysis of domestic consumption of iodine in Russia in 2002-2021. In this section, the production-consumption balance of the studied products is given, the sectoral structure of consumption is estimated, the main consumers and directions for the use of iodine are described.
The final, tenth chapter of the report provides a forecast for iodine production in the CIS countries and iodine consumption in Russia until 2030.
The appendices contain addresses and contact information of the main producers and consumers of iodine.
Target audience of the study:
- iodine market participants - producers, consumers, traders;
- potential investors.
The proposed study claims to be a reference tool for marketing services and management decision makers working in the market for iodine and iodine-containing raw materials.
