This report is the ninth edition of the study of the current state of the iodine market in the CIS countries (Russia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Belarus) and the world.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the market of iodine and its compounds.
The objects of the study are iodine and iodine-containing products.
This work is a desk study. The sources of information used were data from the statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan); international UN databases (UNdata), World Bank, Eurostat; international and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (until 2022); the Unified Information System in the Sphere of Procurement; railway transportation statistics; the SBIS database; foreign specialized companies; annual and quarterly reports of issuers of securities; industry and regional press, conference materials, Internet sites of manufacturing enterprises and consumers of the studied products; scientific and technical literature (elibrary, etc.), FIPS patent database; InfoMine database, etc.

Research volume: the report consists of 10 parts, contains 179 pages, including 42 tables, 43 figures and 4 appendices.
The first chapter of the report provides a brief overview of the global iodine market in 2005-2024. The section provides data on iodine reserves in the world, iodine production dynamics, main manufacturers of products, export-import of products, prices and global iodine consumption.
The second chapter of the report provides information on iodine reserves in the CIS countries (Russia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Belarus).
The third chapter of the report provides information on existing iodine production technologies and their features.
The fourth chapter of the report is devoted to the analysis of iodine production in the CIS countries in 1992-2024. This chapter presents the requirements of the existing regulatory and technical documentation for the quality of iodine of various grades, provides data on production volumes, traces the dynamics of the output of these products, describes the main iodine producers and their current status.
The fifth chapter of the report is devoted to projects for the development of iodine production in the CIS countries.
The sixth chapter of the report analyzes data on foreign trade operations with iodine in Russia and the CIS countries. Russia (2001-2024) and Ukraine (2000-2024) - a detailed market analysis: information on the volumes of export and import of the studied products is provided, the structure of supplies by country is assessed, data on the volumes of iodine supplied by exporters and importers is presented. Turkmenistan (2001-2024), Azerbaijan (2007-2024), as well as Kazakhstan and Belarus (2004-2024) - a brief analysis.
The seventh chapter of the report examines foreign trade operations with iodine-containing products in Russia (2000-2024), Ukraine (2005-2024) - a detailed analysis of the volumes and directions of export-import deliveries of these products.
The eighth chapter of the report presents average export prices for iodine by manufacturers in the CIS countries, and also analyzes data on changes in export-import prices for products in 2005-2024.
The ninth chapter of the report is devoted to the analysis of domestic consumption of iodine in Russia in 2002-2024. This section presents the production-consumption balance of the studied products, assesses the industry structure of consumption, describes the main consumers and directions of iodine use. The final, tenth chapter of the report provides a forecast for iodine production in the CIS countries and iodine consumption in Russia until 2035.
The appendices review the basic process flow diagram of the iodine purification plant and the technology for obtaining iodine-containing salts at JSC NPO Iodobrom, and provide addresses and contact information for the main iodine producers and consumers.
