This report is the fifteenth edition of the EAEU activated carbon market study.

The objective of the study is to analyze the current state of the EAEU activated carbon market and forecast its development through 2030.

The subject of the study is activated carbon.

The study's timeframe is 2001-2025, with a forecast for 2026-2030.

The study's geographic scope includes: Russia (a comprehensive, detailed market analysis), other EAEU countries (a general retrospective market analysis), and the global market (a brief overview).

This work differs from studies currently presented on the Russian market in its broader geographic and timeframe—it examines the market not only in Russia but also in EAEU countries from 2001 to 2025.

It should be noted that not all activated carbon manufacturers in Russia currently report their production volumes to the Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation (Rosstat). Some marketing studies devoted to the activated carbon market examine only official statistics. This report provides a more accurate assessment of the current situation in the activated carbon market, including information on companies that do not submit reports to the Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation.

Furthermore, the report provides detailed data on the quality characteristics of activated carbons produced by Russian manufacturers.

This report also provides a brief overview of the global activated carbon market, including data on production and consumption volumes. It examines activated carbon trade transactions, identifies the largest global exporters and importers, and examines activated carbon price dynamics from 2010 to 2025.

The report consists of 8 parts and contains 192 pages, including 69 tables, 30 figures, and 3 appendices.

This work is a desk study. The following sources of information were used: data from statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, and the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan); international databases of the UN (UNdata), World Bank, and Eurostat; international and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (until 2022); the Unified Procurement Information System; rail transportation statistics; the SBIS database; foreign specialized companies; annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers; industry and regional press, conference materials, websites of manufacturing companies and consumers of the products under study; scientific and technical literature (e.g., Elibrary), the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS) patent database; the InfoMine database, etc.

The first chapter of the report is devoted to a brief overview of the global activated carbon market.

Chapter two describes activated carbon production technologies and their properties, provides information on the raw materials used in activated carbon production, and provides information on production equipment.

Chapter three of the report presents data on activated carbon production volumes in the EAEU from 2001 to 2025.

Chapter four is devoted to activated carbon production in Russia and provides information on the current status of activated carbon manufacturing companies, including production volumes and product characteristics, supply routes and volumes, and key financial and economic indicators.

Chapter five of the report analyzes data on foreign trade transactions involving activated carbon in Russia (2001-2025), Belarus (2004-2025), and Kazakhstan (2005-2025). The report identifies the main supply routes and volumes for this product.

Chapter six of the report presents data on domestic activated carbon price dynamics in Russia from 2010-2026, as well as changes in export and import prices (2001-2025).

Chapter seven of the report analyzes domestic activated carbon consumption in the Russian Federation from 2001-2025. It presents the balance of activated carbon production and consumption, examines the industry structure of consumption, and identifies the largest consumers of this product.

This chapter also presents the balance of activated carbon consumption in Kazakhstan (2020-2025) and the industry structure of consumption.

The final, eighth chapter of the report presents a forecast for activated carbon production and consumption in Russia through 2030.

The appendices to the report provide archival data on activated carbon deliveries through 2015, technical specifications of activated carbon from several Russian manufacturers, and contact information for activated carbon producers and consumers.

Target audience for the study:

- Activated carbon market participants – producers, consumers, and traders;

- Potential investors.

The proposed study is intended to serve as a reference guide for marketing departments and decision-makers working in the activated carbon market.
