This report is currently available in Russian language only. However, we can provide an English version of the report within 3 weeks after receiving a payment.
This report is the seventh edition of the Russian and EAEU/CIS flat glass market study.
Market monitoring has been conducted since 2008.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the flat glass market in Russia and the EAEU/CIS countries.
The study focuses on clear flat glass produced using float glass technology, as well as glass tinted in the body and glass with special coatings (low-emission and solar control).
A unique feature of this study is that it covers not only the Russian market but also the markets of other EAEU/CIS countries. The review also categorizes glass by type, providing data not only on flat glass in general but also on special types of glass (tinted and coated glass).
This work is a desk study. Data from statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, and the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan) was used as sources of information. International databases of the UN (UNdata), World Bank, Eurostat; international and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (until 2022); Unified Procurement Information System; rail transportation statistics; SBIS database; foreign specialized companies; annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers; industry and regional press, conference materials, websites of companies producing and consuming the products under study; scientific and technical literature (Elibrary, etc.), the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS) patent database; the InfoMine database, etc.
Research timeframe: 2000 - 6 months of 2025, forecast – 2025-2030.
Research geography: Russian Federation, comprehensive detailed market analysis, other EAEU/CIS countries (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan) – general retrospective market analysis.
The report consists of seven parts and contains 199 pages, including 61 tables, 48 figures, and one appendix.
The first chapter describes the types of Flat glass and their production technologies.
The second chapter presents data on reserves and deposits of the main raw materials for Flat glass production in the Russian Federation and the CIS as of January 1, 2024.
The third chapter of the report is devoted to Flat glass production in the CIS countries (Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan). This section presents production statistics for this product from 2000-2025, the regional and product structure of production, and describes the current status of the main Flat glass producers in the CIS.
The fourth chapter analyzes foreign trade operations in Flat glass in Russia (2000-2025), Ukraine (2005-2024), Belarus (2006-2024), and other CIS countries. The report presents data on the export and import volumes of the studied products in physical and monetary terms, and assesses the regional and commodity structure of supply.
Chapter five analyzes the pricing environment in the Russian glass market. This section examines the dynamics of Flat glass prices on the Russian domestic market in recent years and provides an overview of export and import prices.
Chapter six of the report, devoted to Flat glass consumption, presents the production-consumption balance of this product in Russia and the EAEU/CIS countries and assesses the dynamics of "apparent" Flat glass consumption. This section also presents the sectoral, commodity, and regional structure of Russian glass consumption, and analyzes the situational development of the construction industry in Russia.
Chapter seven of the report presents a forecast for the development of the Russian Flat glass market to 2030.
The appendix provides contact information for the main Flat glass manufacturers in Russia and the EAEU/CIS.
Target audience of the study:
- Flat glass market participants – manufacturers, consumers, traders; - potential investors.
This study is intended to serve as a reference guide for marketing departments and decision-makers working in the Flat glass market.
