This report is the 4th edition of the study of the rare earth elements (metals) market in the world.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the rare earth elements (metals) market in the world and forecast its development until 2030.
The object of the study is rare earth elements (yttrium, lanthanum and 13 elements of the lanthanide group: cerium, praseodymium, neodymium, samarium, europium, gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, holmium, erbium, thulium, ytterbium, lutetium), their concentrates, alloys and chemical compounds.
This work is a desk study. The following sources of information were used: data from statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan); international databases of the UN (UNdata), World Bank, Eurostat; international and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (until 2022); Unified Information System in the Sphere of Procurement; Railway Transportation Statistics; SBIS database; foreign specialized companies; annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers; industry and regional press, conference materials, Internet sites of manufacturing enterprises and consumers of the studied products; scientific and technical literature (elibrary, etc.), FIPS patent database; InfoMine database, etc.
Chronological framework of the study: 2009-2024; forecast - until 2030.
Geography of the study: world.
Volume of the study: the report consists of 7 parts, contains 73 pages, including 22 figures and 33 tables.
The first chapter of the report describes the mineral resource base of rare earth metals in the world, provides data on rare earth metal reserves by country.
The second chapter of the report is devoted to projects related to the extraction and processing of rare earth raw materials. The most promising projects are identified and their characteristics are given.
The third chapter provides data on the production of rare earth metals in the world (2009-2024). A description of the main producers of rare earth raw materials in China and other countries of the world is given, and the dynamics of production and supplies is shown.
The fourth chapter provides data on the export and import of rare earth metals in China in 2009-2024 with a distribution by supply directions and types of products. It also shows the volumes of rare earth metal imports by the main importing countries (USA, Japan, EU).
The fifth chapter provides the dynamics of prices for various types of rare earth metals (compounds and metals).
The sixth chapter describes the consumption of rare earth products in the world. This chapter provides the dynamics and structure of rare earth metal consumption in the world, as well as information on the main consumer enterprises.
The seventh chapter is devoted to the forecast of production and consumption of rare earth products in the world until 2030.
Target audience of the study:
- participants in the rare earth products market - producers, consumers, traders;
- potential investors.
The proposed study claims to be a reference guide for specialists working in the REE market and making management decisions.
