This report is the third edition of the manganese raw materials market study.

The objective of the study is to analyze the manganese raw materials markets in Russia, the EAEU/CIS countries, and globally.

The object of the study is manganese ores and concentrates.

This work is a desk study. The following sources of information were used: data from statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan); international databases of the UN (UNdata), World Bank, and Eurostat; international and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (until 2022); the Unified Information System for Procurement; rail transportation statistics; the SBIS database; foreign specialized companies; annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers; industry and regional press, conference materials, and websites of manufacturers and consumers of the products under study. Scientific and technical literature (elibrary, etc.), the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS) patent database; the InfoMine database, etc.

Research timeframe: 2000-2024.

Research geography: the Russian Federation, the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and Georgia – a comprehensive, detailed market analysis; countries around the world – a brief market analysis.

The report consists of 5 chapters and contains 75 pages, including 18 tables, 13 figures, and 2 appendices.

The first chapter of the report provides a brief overview of the global manganese raw material market from 2014-2024. It presents data on the global manganese raw material market size and development trends, global production volumes in various countries and major companies, prices in key global markets, and the main directions of foreign trade operations. This chapter also reflects the sectoral structure of manganese raw material consumption in key industries.

The second chapter of the report characterizes the manganese resource base in the CIS countries: Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Georgia, describing the main deposits and their development status.

The third chapter of the report describes the current state of manganese mining and processing in Russia and the CIS countries. It presents data on manganese ore production volumes in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Georgia from 2000 to 2024.

The fourth chapter of the report analyzes foreign trade transactions with manganese raw materials in Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and Georgia from 2000 to 2024.

The fifth chapter analyzes data on manganese raw material consumption in Russia and the CIS countries, presents production-consumption balances for each country from 2000 to 2024, and lists the main enterprises consuming this type of raw material.

The appendix provides contact information for manganese producers in Russia and the CIS countries, as well as the largest enterprises consuming manganese raw materials in these countries.

The target audience for this study is:

- manganese market participants – producers, consumers, and traders;

- potential investors.

This study is intended to serve as a reference guide for marketing departments and decision-makers working in the market for manganese-containing products: ore, concentrates, and ferroalloys.
