This review is the sixth edition of a study of the perlite market in Russia, the EAEU, and globally.
Market monitoring has been conducted since 2002.
The objective of the study is to analyze the perlite market in the EAEU and forecast its development to 2030.
The objects of the study are perlite raw materials (raw perlite) and expanded perlite.
The chronological scope of the study: 1997-2025; forecast – to 2030.
Geographical scope of the study: The Russian Federation – a comprehensive detailed market analysis; other EAEU countries – a general market analysis; countries around the world – a brief description.
This work is a desk study. The following sources of information were used: data from statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia); international databases of the UN (UNdata), World Bank, and Eurostat; International and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (until 2022); Unified Procurement Information System; rail transportation statistics; SBIS database; foreign specialized companies; annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers; industry and regional press, conference materials, websites of manufacturing companies and consumers of the products under study; scientific and technical literature (elibrary, etc.), the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS) patent database; the InfoMine database, etc.
A distinctive feature of this work, compared to other studies presented on the Russian marketing market, is its broader timeframe – InfoMine has been monitoring the perlite market since 2002 – and the geographic breadth of the study – the review presents an analysis of the perlite market in the EAEU and neighboring countries, as well as a brief analysis of the global perlite market.
This paper also analyzes the market for both perlite raw materials and the downstream product – expanded perlite.
The report consists of 8 chapters and contains 140 pages, including 14 figures, 66 tables, and 2 appendices.
Chapter one provides a brief overview of the global perlite market.
Chapter two presents data on the main perlite deposits and reserves in the EAEU and neighboring countries.
Chapter three presents information on perlite production volumes in Russia, the EAEU, and neighboring countries (1992-2025), along with brief information on mining companies.
Chapter four is devoted to expanded perlite production in Russia. This chapter presents data on production trends from 1997-2025 and briefly describes the current status of expanded perlite producers.
Chapter five of the report presents data on foreign trade transactions with perlite raw materials in Russia, the Eurasian Economic Union, and neighboring countries (1997-2025), as well as expanded perlite in Russia (1997-2025).
Chapter six analyzes data on the dynamics of export-import prices for perlite raw materials and expanded perlite in Russia (2002-2025), and also provides information on current domestic prices for expanded perlite in the Russian Federation.
Chapter seven of the report is devoted to perlite consumption. This chapter presents the balance of production and consumption in Russia for perlite raw materials (1997-2025) and expanded perlite (2002-2025), identifies the main industries consuming expanded perlite, and provides data on the volumes of use of this product by the largest Russian consumers (2006-2025).
The eighth and final chapter presents a forecast for perlite production and consumption in Russia through 2030.
The appendices include data on expanded perlite shipments by rail through 2017, as well as contact information for perlite producers in the EAEU and neighboring countries.
Target audience:
– Perlite market participants – producers, consumers, and traders;
– Potential investors.
This study is intended to serve as a reference guide for marketing departments and decision-makers working in the perlite market.
