This report is the twelfth edition of the study of the glass sand market in the EAEU countries.
Market monitoring has been conducted since 2003.
The objective of the study is to analyze the quartz glass raw material market in Russia and the EAEU countries.
The objects of the study are quartz glass sand.
This work is a desk study. The following sources of information were used: data from statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan); international databases of the UN (UNdata), World Bank, Eurostat; international and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (until 2022); the Unified Information System in Procurement; rail transportation statistics; the SBIS database; foreign specialized companies; annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers; industry and regional press, conference materials, websites of manufacturers and consumers of the products under study; Scientific and technical literature (elibrary, etc.), the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS) patent database; the InfoMine database, etc.
Research timeframe: 2000-2025; forecast: 2026-2035.
Research coverage: Russia – comprehensive, detailed market analysis; Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan – brief market analysis.
Research scope: The report consists of 8 parts and contains 157 pages, including 54 tables, 35 figures, and 2 appendices.
The first chapter of the report presents information on glass sand reserves in Russia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus as of January 1, 2025.
The second chapter of the report is devoted to an overview of existing quartz sand beneficiation technologies and product quality requirements.
Chapter three of the report presents data on glass sand mining and production volumes in Russia from 2000 to 2025, as well as sand mining in Belarus and Kazakhstan.
Chapter four describes the current status of the main glass sand producers in Russia. It provides data on production volumes, product characteristics, supply routes, and volumes.
Chapter five analyzes data on foreign trade transactions involving glass sand between Russia and the EAEU countries (Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan).
Chapter six presents current glass sand prices in Russia and provides the dynamics of export and import price changes for this product from 2005 to 2025.
Chapter seven analyzes domestic consumption of glass sand in Russia and the EAEU countries. This section also presents the industry structure of sand consumption in Russia, data on supply routes and volumes, and describes the current status of the largest Russian consumers.
The final, eighth chapter of the report presents a forecast for glass sand production and consumption in Russia to 2035.
The appendices provide addresses and contact information for the main glass sand producers and consumers in the Russian Federation.
